As well as way marked walks, there are many areas of open walking land and beaches to attract everyone.For the more ambitious, the starting point for the Southern Upland Way is only a few miles away at Portpatrick. A visit to Glen Trool is a must with wonderful way marked walks and featuring the Seven Stanes cycle routes. |

Castles and Museums
Stranraer or St Johns Castle is well worth a visit for the view from the top of the tower (open during the summer). |

Fishing
Silverline Fishing Trips offer pleasure and fishing trips out of Portpatrick on a fully licensed boat.

Airports and Ferries
We are (as the crow flies) closer to Belfast than any other large shopping center and with the High Speed Service ferry, less than 2 hours away. Inclusive day trips to Ireland taking in the Giants Causeway are also available.
P&O Irish Sea and Stena Line have car and foot passenger routes plus day trips.
